Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje's call for opposition to join hands with him in further developing the state, after the Supreme Court judgement over his victory at the gubernatorial election, the Kano state Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Kwankwasiyya faction Engineer Rabi'u Sulaiman Bichi defects from his party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Party (APC). Meet new ABU Vice Chancellor, a Professor who prefers to be called ‘Malam

’ Professor Kabir Bala, a professional Builder and a professor of Construction Management, was born on January 7th, 1964 in Kaduna. His late father, who he says is his role model, had insisted that every member of the family be enrolled in both Islamic and western schools from age four. Today, his family can boast of producing a registered nurse (RN), an accountant, business administrator, medical doctor, a scientist, historian, an engineer and an Air Force officer among others. Kabir Bala was versed in the Hadith from a tender age, which earned him the name ‘Malam’. According to the oxford dictionary.com, in Nigeria and other parts of Africa, Malam means a learned man or scribe. Kwara puts a lie to Saraki’s land claim

The Kwara State government has defended the revocation of a swathe of land illegally acquired by the late strong man of Kwara politics, Dr Olusola Saraki. The state bureau of lands in a statement disclosed details surrounding the plots of land in the prime Government Reservation Area, Ilorin, in a bid to clarify issues surrounding the episode. The full statement reads: “The entire land was acquired in the 1970s for Overriding Public Interest and same was initially designed to host the Phase II of the State Secretariat. The construction of the said State Secretariat Phase II was actually commenced and it was at superstructure level before same was abandoned,” the Director General of the Bureau of Lands, Ibrahim Salman said in a statement. “The entire land was later redesigned in the 1980s for the construction of a Civil Service Clinic, State Secretariat, and a parking lot for both the Clinic and the State Secretariat. “The Clinic was subsequently constructed in 1982, while the...
