KANO ELECTION: A DARK LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL ~Mallam Yusuf Amoke

Image
After my post on my disappointment in the Kano Election, many friends and associates alike called me, and expressed their fears that I might not be appointed into PMB’s Government. I told them that, I am not in haste. I may not be appointed today but I might be the one appointing tomorrow if life and good health permits. Looking at my age, whether they like it or not, we shall take their place sooner or later and make fixing of Nigeria our sole priority. And I want to make this statement very clearly that THOSE WHO PULL US CLOSE TODAY, ARE DOING SO FOR THEIR OWN TOMORROW because when we get their, we shall also pull close their kids or themselves when they are no more relevant in the system, most especially if their track record is clean. We will continue to call on our fellow country men to rebuke evil even if it’s within their family circle let alone in a political party. We can’t afford to soil our hands for the same reason we chased PDP away in 2015.  If this is what we...

Ahmad Lawan declares for Senate presidency

Image
Senate Leader Ahmad Lawan has  declared his intention to contest the office of the Senate President in June when the 9th Assembly will be inaugurated. Lawan has been in the news as one of the contenders for the seat, but he did not officially declare his position until Friday night in Abuja during a session with journalists. The Senate Leader, who was APC’s choice candidate for the position in 2015, said, however, that he was ready to respect whatever zoning arrangement that the national leadership of the party would come up with. He said he has since commenced contacting his colleagues in the APC, PDP and the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to gain their support for his aspiration. Lawan said he believed the APC had learnt its lessons from the 2015 experience when one of its then senators, Bukola Saraki, defied the party’s wishes and aligned with PDP senators to get elected as Senate President. Lawan said: “I am a loyal party man. I will respect the decisions of my lea...

ATIKU ISN'T THE LOSER...~ABDULLAHI O. HARUSPICE

Image
The losers of this election is/are certainly not Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party but the many actors who turned a mere political contest to a religious war, to a family feud and regional warfare. On the top list is former president Olusegun Obasanjo who lost his reverence as an elder statesman to demystified political god drenching in battered rains of shame. Instead of playing the mother who should lie between her two children, he decided to turn his back on one of the children thus exposing him as a biased mother. His posts are enormously riddled with irreparable damage. In his book titled 'My Watch', he wrote in permanent ink how Atiku stole silly the Nigerian treasury amongst other unprintable verdicts. Atiku, however, is lucky to have these negative labels on him dropped as he walks away a clean man while Obasanjo is left to lick from his sores of inconsistency and doublespeak. Religious leaders particularly some pastors and Imans w...
