NANS Bans Awards

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS has banned all forms of awards and recognitions on behalf of the group until further notice.


President of NANS, Danielson Bamidele Akpan announced the ban in Abuja at the inauguration of new executives.  
The NANS president, joined by other youths urged government to step-up funding for education and ensure entitlements of lecturers and teachers are not unnecessarily delayed leading to industrial action.
Ahead of the 2019 elections, the students’ body warned politicians against financial inducement of less privileged students in order to use them as thugs.  
The students further called for peaceful coexistence and unity among Nigerians as the country goes into general elections.

AREWA YOUTH FOR LIBERTY (AYFL) Condemns DAPPMAN’s Actions, Declares Full Support for Dangote Refinery

The Arewa Youth for Liberty (AYFL) strongly condemns the recent actions of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) against the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Company. We view this as an act of sabotage and outright hostility toward the Nigerian people, who stand to benefit greatly from the refinery’s efforts to reduce fuel prices and provide massive employment opportunities. Dangote Refinery has invested heavily in the growth and development of Nigeria’s oil sector, including spending over ₦3 trillion to acquire trucks that will ensure nationwide distribution of petroleum products at reduced costs. Rather than commend and collaborate with Dangote Refinery in its efforts to ease the hardship caused by rising fuel prices, DAPPMAN and its allies, including NUPENG, appear determined to frustrate these positive strides.
