Zamfara today: A product of gross leadership ineptitude
It's sad how we in Nigeria, especially the North, always try to blindly portray a black paint as white in our quest towards consolidating the sainthood of our sainted brothers!

By :Abdulhaleem Ishaq Ringim

And whenever a fault is attributed to our brother the Saint , we always come to blind rescue by saying "Ai wllh mutanen dake tare dashi ne, ga kuma wainnan yan majalisan, ba laifin Baba bane".
Zamfara has become the Lion's den today; a cave for barbarians where "sanctity of life" is an alien ideal from Mars. Any news from that axis today is a news of destruction and massacre, 50 today, 70 tomorrow, 100 and so on.
Most unfortunate is the ineptitude the leadership of this country have been showing towards this menace. It started slowly but containable, with obvious signs and potentiality of erupting into a grand scale disaster, but instead of exigent action, mutism was all we witnessed. Is this what we voted for?
The governor and "epitome of irresponsibility" in his quest towards showing how politically impotent he is even once said that he is no longer the Chief Security Officer(CSO) of his state; a statement I always regard as a resignation statement. He has portrayed in every sense nothing but irresponsibility and high degree incompetence as far as leadership is concerned. What Is he still doing on that seat?
Saddening also is the fact that the federal Minister of Defense, an indigent of Zamfara state has let political differences to blind fold him hence rendering innocent Zamfarians to the wrath of terror. Is politics worth the lives of innocent Nigerians?
My brothers and sisters, when will we fathom the fact that all the powers these public servants enjoy as enshrined in the constitution is never legitimate until when solidified by our mandate?
And when will we fully understand that safeguarding our lives and properties is without any equivocation the primary responsibility of the government?
By providing security, they are not doing us a privilege but rather fulfilling the major term of our agreement with them during the elections.
Or have we forgotten that insecurity and the hope for security restoration was one of the major factors that lead to the emergence of this "change" regime?
But we were here when thousands of security personnel were deployed just for a state election. We were here when a full army exercise was instructed against a group of lunatics claiming sovereignty and secession, but never killed anyone.
If I could blame Goodluck Jonathan for the killings of my brothers in Maiduguri and other North Eastern states, then nothing will prevent me from blaming Buhari for the massacre of my brothers and sisters in Zamfara, Plateau, Benue, Birnin Gwari, Taraba and any other state that have fell victim of this menace.
Let's join hands together and call for;
-A state of Emergency in Zamfara and deployment of enough security agents(including some service chiefs),
-A thorough investigation to find out the perpetuators of these sardonic events,
-The formation of a civilian JTF to help curtail the menace,
-An investigation on why the institutions concerned were so reluctant about the issue(including the Federal Ministry of Defence, the state Government etc) and the resignation of their captains if need be,
-A clear cut warning to neighboring countries harbouring these barbarians to secure their borders or risk invasion(as we shall follow these terrorists wherever they go even if it is outside the boundaries our borders)
-An explanation for the presidency's ineptitude, an apology and a condolence visit to Zamfara by the President himself!
-A renewed commitment to fighting insecurity by the presidency.
Restore optimum security in all sections of this country or risk being denied the mandate to lead us come 2019 for it was majorly why we voted you in 2015!
Allah yasa mudace ya azurta mu da zaman lafiya a Nigeria!
