ABU SRC CULTURAL CARNIVAL COMMITTEE BESTOWED AN AWARD OF EXCELLENCE TO ALH. NAZIFI MUHAMMAD GUMEL (MAJIDADIN GUMEL) AS CULTURE AND HUMANITARIAN DEVELOPMENT AMBASSADOR

The Leadership of Ahmadu Bello University's Cultural Carnival Committee has bestowed a very distinguished award to Alh. Nazifi Muhammad Gumel (Majidadin Gumel). Majidadin Gumel is a youth who has distinguished himself as a genuine entreprenuer and champion of youth/students empowerment, philanthropic services and human development.

This was announced by Comr. Bello Hayatu in a Press Conference at the University's Assembly Hall. Alh Nazifi and some other distinguished Nigerians are going to be awarded at the upcoming Dinner and Award Night of the Cultural Carnival event which is adjudged to be the first of it's kind in any of Nigeria's Tertiary Institutions.

The Cultural Carnival is Commencing on 29th August, 2019 with programs as listed below.

1. Horse Durbar.......29th August, 2019

2. Cooking Competition.......29th August, 2019

3. Cultural Parade.......30th August, 2019

4. Cultural Display.......30th August, 2019

5. Public Lecture.......31st August, 2019

6. Dinner and Award Night.......31st August, 2019

While congratulating the Majidadin Gumel and other distinguished award recipients, the program will indeed be a light of improving the African Culture and indeed showcasing them to the world he said.

The Arewa Youth for Liberty (AYFL) strongly condemns the recent actions of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) against the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Company. We view this as an act of sabotage and outright hostility toward the Nigerian people, who stand to benefit greatly from the refinery’s efforts to reduce fuel prices and provide massive employment opportunities. Dangote Refinery has invested heavily in the growth and development of Nigeria’s oil sector, including spending over ₦3 trillion to acquire trucks that will ensure nationwide distribution of petroleum products at reduced costs. Rather than commend and collaborate with Dangote Refinery in its efforts to ease the hardship caused by rising fuel prices, DAPPMAN and its allies, including NUPENG, appear determined to frustrate these positive strides.
