• To get loan to set up their trades
A number of 145 girl children and women across the 11 wards of Sabon Gari Local Government, Kaduna State benefitted from the skills acquisition training programme organised by the AbuFarik Support Organization in collaboration with Arewa Charity Centre for Women and Girl-Child.
The skills acquisition training programme was in support of the chairmanship bid of Mallam Tijjani Ibrahim (AbuFarik), candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The beneficiaries were presented certificate of participation today, May 15, 2021 at Aminu LGEA Primary School, Sabon Gari.
Speaking at the event, AbuFarik commended the participants for their interest and time, charging them to make good use of the knowledge gained through the training.
He also emphasised that empowerment of women, youths and other demographies will be a top priority of his government.
“I want to appreciate the AbuFarik Support Organization for this laudable programme. It's a step in the right direction for the empowerment of the girl child and women. Let me also commend the input of the Arewa Charity Centre for Women and Girl-Child in terms of facilitating the training sessions. I pray that God will bless you abundantly. Women and the girl-child remain one of vulnerable social demographies in the society. Programmes like this targeted at their empowerment are therefore always welcome.
“I congratulate the beneficiaries and charge them all to make good use of the knowledge acquired in the cause of the training. Many persons have succeeded through the skills you have learnt. What's required is commitment, hardwork and prayer,” the chairmaship candidate said.
Meanwhile, the process of facilitating loans for the 145 beneficiaries to set up their trades has been activated and is already at the advanced stage.
While 38 persons enrolled in the makeup category, 107 persons went for the catering category.
