NANS PRESIDENT FELICITATE WITH NIGERIAN STUDENTS ON THE 62ND YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF NIGERIAN INDEPENDENCE

Great Nigerian Students! It is with a great sense of patriotism, love and concern for our Nation and Union that I and my Executive Council felicitates with Nigerian students on this day that marks 62years of our National independence.

Without doubt, the history of the Nigerian independence will never be complete without acknowledging the contribution of Nigerian students in the struggle for the emancipation of our great Nation from colonial marauders and resource exploiters, Nigerian students alongside other compatriots and partners gave their all to earn Nigeria this great feat that we are all celebrating today.

Nigeria being just 62years old today is relatively a young Country and looking back at what we have attained as a Nation, we have certainly not arrive where we ought to be if taken into account, our unparalleled potential of human and material resources but the fact that we are not stagnated as a Nation and out citizens remains hopeful even in the presence of the challenges we faced individually and collectively is an assurance that the greatness of Nigeria is certainly inevitable.

NANS under my watch will continue to serve as a watchdog to governmental policies and programs to ensure that they are always tailored to addressing Nigeria's problems, in tune with this commitment we solicit for the patience, understanding and support of Nigerian students as we continue to push for an end to the ASUU strike and all other problems affecting Nigerians.

We also use this opportunity to call on Nigerian students to be civil in their engagement as  political campaigns begins and they should understand that the decision they will make in the next 4months will determine the fate of Nigeria, the most important thing to know is that, Nigeria was there before 2023 and will surely be there after 2023, we should remain peaceful and law abiding while ensuring that we engage one another in choosing the right leaders that will put the interest of our Nation and citizens first.

Thank you very much,

God bless NANS,

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Aluta Continua, Victoria Ascerta

Happy Independence

Comr. Usman Umar Barambu Gcns, President NANS.
