10th Assembly : Sir Ahmadu bello Youth council of Nigeria rally support for Hon. Betara

The Sir Ahmadu Bello Youth Council of Nigeria (ABYCN) declares it's support to Hon. Aliyu Muktar Betara to be Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives at the 10th Assembly, recalling that Hon. Betara is from the Northeast geopolitical zone and being a ranking member from the zone. As someone, who has vast knowledge and experience of the rules of the game, he has become so prominent that, any Sterling decision to take place in the National Assembly, he has always been considered and his inputs are specially recognised more especially his present position as the Chairman House Committee on Appropriation.


One of Betara's outstanding qualities is his dedication to serving his constituents. He has implemented saveral developmental projects, alleviated the hardships of his people, and has always been a voice for his people. As a member of the House of Representatives, he has distinguished himself as one of the best representatives this nation has ever produced.


Hon. Betara's achievements in the area of Appropriations, budget process, education, youth and students empowerment are enormous. He has been a strong advocate for the development of education in Nigeria and has sponsored several bills and motions aimed at improving the quality of education in the country. His contributions to the budget process have been instrumental in ensuring that national budgets are reflective of the needs of Nigerians, devoid of padding and other corrupt practices. This has earned him many accolades, awards and encomiums from reputable organizations, some of this laurels are:


• Member of the Year Award at the 10th edition of Heros of Democracy Award Africa 2022 

• Award of Excellence by National Union of Journalist Northeast Zone 2013



These among many other awards conferred on Hon. Member for his commitment to Nation Building and outstanding legislative acumen.


Furthermore, Hon. Betara has demonstrated a deep commitment to the empowerment of youth and students. He has consistently supported initiatives aimed at providing young people with opportunities to develop their skills and become productive members of society. His efforts have resulted in the establishment of several programs and initiatives aimed at empowering students and young people in the Northeast geopolitical zone.


Hon. Betara's contribution to the success of the APC Presidential candidate at the polls is also noteworthy. He played a significant role in mobilizing support for the APC Presidential candidate during the elections, and his efforts were critical to the success of the party at the polls.


In light of these achievements, ABYCN declares its support for Hon. Betara to be the Speaker of the 10th Assembly. We believe that he possesses the leadership qualities and experience necessary to steer the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES towards achieving its goals and objectives. We urge all Members of the Federal House of Representatives to support his candidature, and we are confident that he will continue to make significant contributions towards deepening democracy and the overall development of Nigeria.

The Arewa Youth for Liberty (AYFL) strongly condemns the recent actions of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) against the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Company. We view this as an act of sabotage and outright hostility toward the Nigerian people, who stand to benefit greatly from the refinery’s efforts to reduce fuel prices and provide massive employment opportunities. Dangote Refinery has invested heavily in the growth and development of Nigeria’s oil sector, including spending over ₦3 trillion to acquire trucks that will ensure nationwide distribution of petroleum products at reduced costs.
