The Altruistic Muhammad Bello El-rufai

The recent appointment of Hon. Bello El-rufai as the Chairman, House Committee on Banking Regulations is a well thought out action by the amiable Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen PhD. This appointment from the Speaker is not only a friendly one done for kinship it is equally a worthy one that proofs the pedigree, intelligence, capability and experience of the recipient, Hon. Bello El-rufai. As a people, we advance a hand of fellowship to the Speaker for this appointment full of trust and confidence. This is reflected in the appreciation encomium penned down by Hon. Bello after the announcement.


This appointment amongst many others to come is a morale booster for Hon. Bello El-rufai who has made name as the only House of Representatives member who started empowering his constituents even before swearing in and has not shown any sign of slowing down after he was sworn in, in fact I have gradually lost count of the empowerment, financial intervention, constituency upgrading and other good efforts of Hon. Bello because while you are celebrating one, another one pops up. The unique thing about his empowerment is that he provides the funds even before constituting the committee and always announce the committee along with the value of money voted for their duties.


In a short time of his representative, we are running out of accolades and encomium to qualify Hon. Bello, we have just finally resorted to using his trademark title of 'jika hanta'. This sounds more so because he gradually and always surpasses imagination and beat expectations.


On his recent appointment as the Chairman of House Committee on Banking Regulations, I salute the intellectual prowess and vastness of the Speaker in whom I have all the confidence in this world because of his track record of achievements and loads of performance. The Speaker made this appointments and many others with his deep knowledge of capacity of every member of the House of Representatives. A member mentioned that the rate at which the Speaker is rolling out programmes and making his top-notch appointments testifies to his sophistication and ability to read everyone on the floor of the house both retuning and new members.


Hon. Bello is taking up this new appointment having acquired knowledge, skills and expertise in this regards. Hon. Bello's educational surge in Political Science and International Relations and then Masters degree in Public Relations and Cooperate Communication solidifies his appointment. Hon. Bello's experience as the Senior Legislative aide/Chief of Staff to Distinguished Senator Uba Sani already points to the reasons he will succeed with much exceptional records on his new role.


Hon. Bello served Distinguished Senator Uba Sani with all sense of devotion and concentration not minding that Senator Uba Sani is a father to him being the closest person to his dad in the whole of Kaduna State Government circle. Hon. Bello worked on all proposal for the rebranding of the banking industry for the safety of depositors and investors funds as forwarded by Distinguished Senator Uba Sani who was the then Chairman of same committee of the Red Chamber.


During this period, Hon. Bello interfaced with the Central Bank of Nigeria, many commercial Banks Executives, operators of Microfinance Banks and  Financial Technologies Service providers which equiped him with much needed experience to succeed in his new role. This opportunity will allow him to continue the reforms that is pending on the table of his boss who is doing excellently well in managing the affairs of Kaduna State as the Executive Governor.


Hon. Bello will work closely with Hon. Koko-Besse who is seasoned member of the house and Bello's first stop to solidify the relationship of the duo is a testament to the beautiful results they will both produce in their capacity.


We look forward to the beautiful results in their efforts.

The Arewa Youth for Liberty (AYFL) strongly condemns the recent actions of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) against the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Company. We view this as an act of sabotage and outright hostility toward the Nigerian people, who stand to benefit greatly from the refinery’s efforts to reduce fuel prices and provide massive employment opportunities. Dangote Refinery has invested heavily in the growth and development of Nigeria’s oil sector, including spending over ₦3 trillion to acquire trucks that will ensure nationwide distribution of petroleum products at reduced costs.
