 NANS SUPPORTS THE REFORMS AT NTA UNDER COMRADE ABDULHAMEED DEMBOS, PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON HIS LEADERSHIP AND CONDEMNS MISCHIEF-MAKING BY MEDIA ENTREPRENEURS


The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), having keenly observed the ongoing transformation in the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), wishes to categorically state its unwavering support for the reforms being championed by the Director General, Comrade Abdulhameed Dembos.


Under his stewardship, the NTA has witnessed significant reforms aimed at repositioning the Authority as a true national broadcaster driven by professionalism, technological advancement, and inclusivity. These efforts have renewed public confidence in the institution and reaffirmed NTA’s role as a central voice in nation-building.


In light of these achievements, the National Association of Nigerian Students hereby passes a resounding Vote of Confidence on Comrade Abdulhameed Dembos. His visionary leadership reflects a commitment to accountability, transparency, and the advancement of the Nigerian media landscape.


We also condemn in the strongest terms the recent mischief by some unscrupulous media entrepreneurs who concocted and circulated baseless stories about his alleged removal. Such phantom reports are not only false but also a deliberate attempt to distract him from the laudable reforms he is implementing. Nigerians, especially the youth constituency, will not tolerate attempts to derail progressive leadership with fabricated narratives.

We therefore call on the public to disregard such malicious propaganda and continue to support the reforms at NTA, which are crucial for national development. NANS stands solidly with Comrade Abdulhameed Dembos and urges him to remain undeterred by the antics of detractors.

The Arewa Youth for Liberty (AYFL) strongly condemns the recent actions of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) against the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Company. We view this as an act of sabotage and outright hostility toward the Nigerian people, who stand to benefit greatly from the refinery’s efforts to reduce fuel prices and provide massive employment opportunities. Dangote Refinery has invested heavily in the growth and development of Nigeria’s oil sector, including spending over ₦3 trillion to acquire trucks that will ensure nationwide distribution of petroleum products at reduced costs.
