Madari stated that the videos had brought the institution of governance in the state to disrepute and therefore the need for the legislators to take urgent action. The matter was seconded by Baffa Dan’Agundi, a member representing Kano Municipal. In response, the Speaker, Alhassan Rurum, constituted a seven-man committee to investigate the matter and report back to the Assembly. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIA . 1st October, 2018 By Ibrahim Muhammad Shamsuddin My heartfelt wishes for the 58th Independence Day. Probably here there is hardly anyone who woke up on the mid night of 1st October, 1960 to hear Nigeria's tryst with destiny. We are born in an independent country and hence probably understand very little about insult of being governed by a foreign power. However, whenever we are away from the country we observe that non-resident Nigerians celebrating Independence Day with more vigour than people celebrate in the country itself. Probably it is the feeling of an identity as Nigerians which is behind such emotions. The founding fathers of this nation, along with the numerous freedom fighters who gave their lives to the country, wanted this nation to be independent and happy. Nigeria at 58: During a press briefing with HAJ. MARIAMA DABO the project Coordinator United Nations population Fund in charge Northern part of the country at the just concluded solidarity rally which was held at the ancient city of Zaria to mark the 58years of Nigeria freedom. She has called on young people to embrace peace,unity and progress which  are the prerequisite for  our Nation's development. She also commended the efforts of the National COORDINATOR of Hybrid for positive change COMR. MOH'D ISHAQ SANI  for organizing such an historic event, which brought together young people within and outside kaduna. Indeed  the youth are the leaders of today not tomorrow. AEM REPORTS

JAMB VOWS TO PRESSURE FROM NUNS REDUCE REGULARISATION FEE TO N5000

Ganiyya Abdulganiyyu AEM Report The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have vowed to pressure from the National Union of Nigerian Students (NUNS) demands, it should be recalled that immediately after the inauguration of the 2nd Republic of NUNS, the President have frown at the excessive charges by JAMB in the name of regularisation which cost Students an average of N13,000 when service charges are applied, the NUNS President in pursuant of this objective wrote a position letter to the Registrar of JAMB, an open letter and also held several high-level discussions with stakeholders to see that this needless fee was reduced to an affordable amount. JAMB after excessive pressure vow to this demand and have since made an official announcement to this effect, reducing the controversial charges to N5,000. NUNS under the able leadership of Amb. Salahuddeen A. Lukman will continue to struggle for a better deal for the Nigerian Students and masses.
