: Youth Inclusion: A Key Priority for Kaduna State Government

In today's rapidly changing world, the inclusion of youth in decision-making processes is crucial for sustainable development and the overall success of any society. Recognizing this, the Kaduna State government in Nigeria has taken significant steps to ensure the active participation and meaningful engagement of youth in its governance and policy formulation. This article highlights the importance of youth inclusion and explores the initiatives undertaken by the Kaduna State government to empower and involve its young population.


Harnessing the Power of Youth:


Youth inclusion is vital as young people represent the future and possess innovative ideas, energy, and enthusiasm that can drive positive change. By actively involving young individuals in decision-making processes, governments can tap into their potential, benefit from fresh perspectives, and ensure policies reflect the needs and aspirations of the entire population.


Empowering Youth through Participation:


The Kaduna State government has made substantial efforts to create opportunities for youth engagement and empowerment. The Youth and Community Social Development Projects (Y-CSDP) initiative, for instance, focuses on addressing the aspirations and challenges of young people. It promotes youth participation in community development projects, skill acquisition programs, and entrepreneurship training, enabling them to become active contributors to society while developing their capacities.


Promoting Youth Leadership and Representation:


Recognizing the significance of youth representation, the Kaduna State government has taken steps to increase youth inclusion in decision-making bodies. The Kaduna State government understands the critical role of education and skill development in youth empowerment. Various programs, such as the ReadySetWork initiative, have been implemented to enhance the employability of young graduates by providing them with entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and job placement opportunities. These initiatives aim to equip youth with the skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to succeed in the job market or become successful entrepreneurs.


Embracing Technology for Youth Engagement:


In line with the digital age, the Kaduna State government has leveraged technology to foster youth inclusion. The introduction of platforms like the Kaduna e-participation portal allows young people to provide feedback, share ideas, and participate in online consultations, ensuring their voices are heard. This interactive approach ensures that policies and decisions are more responsive to the needs and aspirations of the youth.


The Kaduna State government has recognized the immense importance of youth inclusion in governance and policymaking. By involving and empowering young people, the government not only taps into their potential as catalysts for change but also creates a more inclusive and sustainable society. Through initiatives promoting education, entrepreneurial development, and youth representation, the Kaduna State government is paving the way for a brighter future, where the youth are actively engaged in shaping their own destiny and contributing to the overall progress of the state.

Ibn Baaz writes EFCC, seeks information over Kaduna South Local Government Fund management

On 28th May 2011, Dr Goodluck Jonathan penned his executive signature to assent the bill seeking the passage of the Freedom of Information Act into law. The Arewa Youth for Liberty (AYFL) strongly condemns the recent actions of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) against the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Company. We view this as an act of sabotage and outright hostility toward the Nigerian people, who stand to benefit greatly from the refinery’s efforts to reduce fuel prices and provide massive employment opportunities. Dangote Refinery has invested heavily in the growth and development of Nigeria’s oil sector, including spending over ₦3 trillion to acquire trucks that will ensure nationwide distribution of petroleum products at reduced costs.
